Book Art

I’m Zahra’a Nasralla, a second-generation Iraqi-American designer. After earning my Bachelor’s of Architecture from the American University of Sharjah in the U.A.E., I served as the Community Outreach Executive at Fikra Graphic Design Studio. The role ignited my passion for community outreach, emphasizing its vital role within the design realm. As I now pursue my Master’s in Industrial Design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, my designs intricately weave together religion, culture, functionality, and aesthetics. My work and research are profoundly anchored in community building through design, always aiming to instill a sense of belonging within diasporic communities. Outside of my main design focus, I embrace my passion as a book artist. Through my series “Can I Bookbind That?”, I continuously challenge and redefine the boundaries of conventional bookbinding.
